Distance from Natal: 33km
Acess: highway RN 063; this road is best known as Rota do Sol.
Búzios is the name of a kind of small sea shells; several people claim to be able to read the fortune by throwing búzios on the floor and watching the position they settle. There is also a famous beach in Rio de Janeiro called Búzios.
The beautiness of the beaches have attracted more and more natalenses, who build holiday condos in Búzios. The waves are small, but the irregularity of the reefs causes the occurrence of stray streams.
Búzios has mobile dunes which can be toured by buggy, like Jenipabu (the dunes of Jenipabu are higher, though); and just like Jenipabu, the buggy drivers can add little or much emotion to the trip.
From the top of the dunes, one can have a view of the beaches of Pirangi, Búzios (the stretch between Pirangi and Búzios is called Pirambúzios) and Tabatinga. Besides, the top of the dunes affords also a view of several lagoons of mineral water; the number and size of the lagoons varies with the epoch of the year.
One of the several coves of Búzios, surrounded by "falésias", was chosen by dolphins for mating. The place is known as Baía dos Golfinhos (Bay of Dolphins), and has a restaurant, where you can enjoy apetizers and drinks, while trying to spot the dolphins in the bay.
Búzios has one of the most popular lagoons in Rio Grande do Norte, the Lagoa de Arituba. People come here to taste the plates of fish served in the restaurant, and to swim in the clean mineral water; there is a rustic version of an aerobunda, not comparable to the original of Jacumã, but very fun nonetheless.
